3/7/08: CSU AAAR hosted a brownbag lunch with Dr. Collette Heald, a new faculty member studying atmospheric chemistry modeling. She talked about her post-doc experiences at Berkeley, and how to find funding as a post-doc. Additionally, she talked about some of the reasons she decided to choose a career path in academia. For those of us not continuing in academia, she sent out a compilation of MS/PhD jobs in the geosciences in the government & private sector. That document can be found here.

2/29/08-3/1/08: We visited Stormpeak Lab in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to learn about high mountain cloud and aerosol research. The lab director, Dr. Gannet Haller, showed us the lab's weather and chemical instrumentation, and also how to live at 10,500 feet with no real running water. 1/31/08: We hosted Dr. Jeff Snider from the University of Wyoming for the Atmospheric Science department colloquium. The students enjoyed lunch with Dr. Snider, and learned how the University of Wyoming operates their graduate program.
