Professional Societies
American Association of Aerosol Research - Our parent organization, concentrating on promoting and communicating advances in aerosol research.
American Geophysical Union - One of largest societies open to all geoscientists. AGU hosts an annual fall meeting in San Francisco that often draws more than 11,000 attendees.
American Meteorological Society - A professional society focused on all aspects of the atmosphere. AMS also funds several graduate fellowships for first year students, and funds travel grants (especially in chemistry!) for students presenting research.
CSU Aerosol Groups
Collett group - Group primarily working on quantifying biomass burning emissions, quantifying nitrogen deposition, fog and cloud chemistry, and developing micro-instrumentation for air quality monitoring.
Kreidenweis Group - Group primarily working to determine the interactions between clouds and aerosols. Some projects include investigating the hygroscopicity of aerosols produced by biomass burning and investigating ice nuclei in souther Colorado.
Heald Group - Group primarily focusing on modelling of atmospheric chemistry, remote sensing of aerosols, chemistry/climate interactions, and intercontinental transport of pollution.
Atmospheric chemistry group meeting schedule - A chance for all three atmospheric chemistry groups, CIRA/National Pasrk Service, and chemists interested in the atmosphere to get together and give talks on their current research.
